Dad Plaid

It's no secret, my love for heritage and classic style runs deep. Everything from old-school athletic wear to never out of style tweeds, I'm into it all. Lately though I've really been drawn to pattern that has been around for centuries and will be around for many more to come.

Glen plaid [aka Prince of Wales Check] is my favorite and comes to us by way of New Zealand [unofficially] in the 19th century and if you know me personally, you know my infatuation with New Zealand imports does not end with clothing. This classic pattern is used primarily in suiting but lately I've found it in everything from socks to ties to this shirt from J. Crew. It's the perfect fall/winter shirts collection from the retailer which they are calling their soft heather twill shirts. Softer and slightly heavier than your basic button-downs, this collection definitely steps up your shirt game with classic suiting patterns... patterns I like to call Dad Plaids for their mature, dapper appeal.
